Playing the Don't Pass, or DarkSide of craps is both fun and profitable. Playing the DarkSide gives you the fine upstanding craps citizen, the best odds of winning of all the table games, unless you are successfully counting cards at Blackjack.
However, by playing the DarkSide methods, you will be bucking the accepted ways of betting, and many other craps players will wonder about you. You will get noticed, and some folks will ask you questions about your method of play, especially 'why are you winning while I am losing?'
I think this is part of the fun. It's good to be a little different.
Many craps strategies can be very complex, and have lots of rules for betting, not betting, charting, waiting, and on and on. For those of you who wish to get started on the DarkSide, or those who already know the DarkSide methods, but are looking for yet another version, I offer the following Basic DarkSide System.
Please note that I offer more than a system of betting, as I give you typical buy in amounts, and expected win goals.
If you've been at the casino scene for long, you know that being organized goes
a long way to making your gambling enjoyable.
So make sure you organize your bankroll, and
organize your thinking about win goals. It will make your adventures all the more fun.
The easiest way to work the DarkSide, is to stick with the Don't Pass, and varied odds.
Using this method you can expect to play about 1-2 hours on average, and typical
winning sessions make about 8 to 10 times your flat bet.
For a $5 flat bet, you need at least $250 buy in.
For a $10 flat bet, you need at least $500 buy in, and at the $25 level $1,250 buy in should be sufficient.
A good win goal will be $40 at the $5 level, $80 at the $10 level, and $200 at the $25 level.
Set your loss limits at whatever you feel comfortable. Some will not feel comfortable if they ever get losses that exceed their win goal. Others don't mind getting way down before climbing back up. It's your money.
Only make one Don't Pass bet per come-out.
If a come-out 7 or 11 wipes out your bet,
wait for the next come-out.
When a number is made, lay odds if the number is not 6 or 8.
Lay 1x odds on 5 or 9,
and 2x odds on 4/10.
For example, if you are betting $10 flat on the Don't Pass, and a 7 is rolled on the come-out, stop betting until another come-out roll.
On the next come-out, make your $10 Don't Pass bet, and if the point number is four, push $20 to the dealer and tell him or her that you'd like to take odds on your 'No Four'. If the number had been 5 or 9, you would have pushed out $10 for odds, and if the number were 6 or 8, you would have made no odds bet.
This will give you good playing time, and a high likelihood of hitting your win goal.
If you want a bit more action, replace your bet if a come-out 7 or 11 nails you.
Try it and see what you think.
